The Kilimanjaro Safari Circuit (KSC) is now part of the famous Northern Circuit (Manyara – Ngorongoro – Serengeti).
The Coastal Aviation flightschedule includes a daily flight to/from West Kilimanjaro Airstrip. KSC combines a safari between Africa‘s Giants: Mt. Meru and Mt. Kilimanjaro. The new safari circuit offers a stay at the foot of both mountains which includes a daily change of scenery, wildlife, culture and in general, learn about a fragile ecosystem. Both, lodge and camp belong to the same owner/management. Experience rainforest, lakes and crater landscapes within the Arusha National Park surrounding the Hatari Lodge. Combined with the wide open savannah vista of the Maasai Steppe enclosing the legendary Shu’mata Camp in Hemingwaystyle under Kilimanjaro.
We recommend a four to seven night stay on the Kilimanjaro Safari Circuit.
We are also proud to announce that we have recently joined the “Members of the Healing Hotels of the World“ and have therefore added another attraction to our offers:
Hatari Lodge and Shu’mata Camp are nestled peacefully in the natural landscapes of Tanzania. The primordial African bush is one of the most profound ways to re-connect with nature in its purest form. A place where your mind, body and spirit find their ground, and relax.
The lodges are both located in northern Tanzania and both give a fantastic view of Mt. Kilimanjaro. Both lodges also have the luxury of being in the middle of the natural habitat of many of Africa’s awe-inspiring wildlife such as giraffes, elephants, buffalos, zebras and many more.
Lodge meals are created using local organic ingredients.
The Serengeti National Park and Ngorongoro Conservation Area become part of your safari as all your senses open to a spectacular variety of flora, fauna and indigenous culture.
Dedicated Healing Safaris are based at Hatari Lodge and Shu’mata Camp and are scheduled several times a year. They combine yoga and meditation in the stunning African landscapes with a wildlife safari and teachings of traditional Maasai medicine. Healing Safaris are led by Dr. Tanya Pergola, sociologist and Chopra Center Certified Vedic Master, author of Time is Cows: Timeless Wisdom of the Maasai.
What is an Art-Safari?
First of all you need to know that our painting holidays are for everyone interested in an artistic adventure. Artists, photographers, sculptors, whether you are just starting out, or more experienced, these Art-Safaris are for you.
An Art-Safari is not just a Safari; it has been designed by an artist to maximize your experience of the African bush, to find your creative self whilst enriching your appreciation of the natural world.
It is an unforgettable journey, an opportunity to sketch and paint animals in their natural habitats, take extraordinary photographs and sharpen your observational skills. As the groups are small you will enjoy one-to-one tutorship and guidance from your art tutor. You will experience the wildlife and landscapes of Tanzania up close, including the chance to meet the wonderful local people. A portrait session with the local Maasai is included in your Art-Safari, providing an opportunity to engage and explore the culture and history of your host country.
You will stay in luxury accommodation, eat wonderful food and enjoy comfortable transport as your journey takes you through stunning landscapes full of wildlife. Sketching from the vehicle gets you close to the animals and birds in world famous National Parks, while in selected reserves you will be able to sketch and paint in peace, sitting on a stool or standing at an easel. At least one of our locations offers a hide-out near a waterhole which is regularly visited by herds of elephant, zebra, wildebeest, antelope and many birds. Our guides know what creative people are looking for, how to get close to the wildlife and how to find the best view points to see landscapes at their best.
Allow all your senses to experience the moment as you engage your creativity with the real Africa.
